Hi, I'm Shelley Winton.
I am a Registered Nurse. My nursing background crosses the lifespan from neonates to geriatrics and I have worked as a staff nurse, researcher, educator, clinical project manager and academic. My current practice interests include: Infection Prevention and Control, Communicable Diseases, Health Education, Serious Illness Conversations and End-of-Life planning.
I am a project and a change facilitator and an innovator. I love working with organizations to support people, change, and movement in new directions. I listen carefully to those around me and synthesize the ideas into tangible actions.
I am a body-centered counsellor with a focus on assisted self-discovery using Hakomi and Psoma. I am a teacher of body/mind practices - yoga and meditation. I facilitate individuals and groups, encouraging listening to the body and the messages it provides.
I practice spiritual healing and energy medicine, trained in the Algonquin tradition, and contemplative practices, rooted in Soto Zen Buddhism. I hold space and accompany others to inner spaces where a companion is helps for support.
I am a Saskatchewan farm girl who moved to Edmonton, AB, Canada in early adulthood. My home base is Edmonton and I am living in both Canada and Delhi, India between October 2026 and August 2029 while my husband completes a diplomatic appointment.
I have an amazing family and I love the land, the garden, and the joy of hand sewing.
In my professional work and beyond, my practice responds to these three key questions:
What is happening? (present moment experience)
What if we try…? (play with options)
What wants to happen? (exploring and choosing possibilities)
When we approach what is happening with a sense of curiosity and play, we discover options we may not have even imagined were possible.
An additional guiding question acts as an invitation to embrace the infinite unfolding of this path of mystery we call life:
· How simply are you willing to let this be?
